I've merged your patch, slightly adapted to default to using mutt if available, into upstream Git master branch. Adding a FAQ was needed since heirloom-mailx does not play well with LOCALE=C metche sets by default, when combined with non-US-ASCII chars in monitored files. Thanks again.
