Hi Axel, if you have tested the nvi and it works then I would say go ahead and upload to DELAYED queue.
Now it ringed the bell... the problem with db4.8 was probably same as with sendmail: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=565242 Which was fixed in Berkeley DB version 4.8.24 and later, so I think it's safe to upload.
