Hello,
I am also concerned by this bug on my AMD64 under SID . The login is
freezed but I still have a ssh access from another machine on my home
network, very usefull !
I red a message on console very early at initial boot :
udevd(51]: error: runtime directory '/run/udev' not writable, for now
falling back to '/dev/.udev'
udevd[152] exec of program 'net.agent' failed
udevd[196] exec of program 'net.agent' failed
sudevd[196]: exec of program 'cdrom_id --export /dev/sr1' failed
udevd[199]: exec of program 'cdrom_id --export /dev/sr1' failed
udevd[202]: exec of program 'cdrom_id --export /dev/sr0' failed
udevd[210]: exec of program 'cdrom_id --export /dev/sr0' failed
...
Starting the hotplug events dispatcher udevdudevd[320] error: runtime
directory '/run/udev' not writable, for now falling back to '/dev/.udev'
/lib/udev/write_dev__çroot_rule: line 17: /run/udev/root-link-rule:
Read-only file system
(I wrote by hand reading the monitor so I hope I didn't make important
mistakes).
The bug is perhaps related to /run directory. I think I gave the initial
problem : maybe the fallback to /dev/.udev is not activated in other
parts of the udev process.
I hope it will help, I keep an eye on the bug if further precision is
needed but the bug is on my home PC so I can only work on it in the
evening...
Regards
Jean-Louis
