The configuration file format for dovecot changes far, far too often. I
just upgraded my server and ended up spending a significant amount of
time converting to the new configuration. This was exacerbated by an
actual bug (which will be filed shortly, I promise) that was difficult
to discover because I couldn't tell what was a configuration error and
what was the bug.

Every format change to the configuration files ends up wasting a large
amount of sysadmin time that could be better spent elsewhere. This is
not a wishlist request; it is a genuine bug that dovecot cannot (for
whatever reason) have a fixed file format between patchlevel versions,
and I believe it should be fixed.
