Actually, the ideal is to : 1) install without the desktop task. 2) once the install is finished, comment out security from /etc/apt/sources.list 3) apt-get update 4) tasksel and chose the dekstop task. 5) uncoment security from the sources.list 6) apt-get update 7) apt-get upgrade This will get you all security upgrades except KDE, and will auto-upgrade even it if it is fixed. Alternatively, you can also take the list of packages where there is a security warning that failed, and remove them, in order to not have security-holed packages installed on the machine. Now, the real question, is where to we put this information in order for the users wanting to do a sarge install on powerpc to be aware of it ? On the security.debian.org web page ? Maybe a real advisory should be sent out about this even ? Or on the main debian web page ? Friendly, Sven Luther -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
