severity 623460 minor tags 623460 wontfix retitle 623460 Lua: Error during loading: [string "/usr/share/wireshark/init.lua"]:45: dofile has been disabled when running as root thanks
Hi Asias, I can't reproduce the problem as a normal user, only as root. You should not run wireshark as root, but if you really want to, you have to edit /etc/wireshark/init.lua to avoid the error message. To enable capturing packets as a normal user, please check /usr/share/doc/wireshark/README.Debian Cheers, Balint 2011/4/20 Asias He <asias.he...@gmail.com>: > Package: wireshark > Version: 1.4.6-1 > Severity: normal > > > When I start wireshark, it displays an error box with this error message: > > Lua: Error during loading: > [string "/usr/share/wireshark/init.lua"]:45: dofile has been disabled > > > -- System Information: > Debian Release: wheezy/sid > APT prefers unstable > APT policy: (500, 'unstable') > Architecture: i386 (i686) > > Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-2-686 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) > Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) > Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash > > Versions of packages wireshark depends on: > ii libc6 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared > lib > ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.22.1-1+sid1 GDK Pixbuf library > ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.6-1 The GLib library of C routines > ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.4-3 The GTK+ graphical user interface > ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.3-5 Layout and rendering of > internatio > ii libpcap0.8 1.1.1-3 system interface for user-level > pa > ii libportaudio2 19+svn20110326-1 Portable audio I/O - shared > librar > ii libwireshark0 1.4.6-1 network packet dissection library > ii libwiretap0 1.4.6-1 network packet capture library -- > ii libwsutil0 1.4.6-1 network packet dissection > utilitie > ii wireshark-common 1.4.6-1 network traffic analyzer - common > ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime > > wireshark recommends no packages. > > wireshark suggests no packages. > > -- no debconf information > > > > -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
