This is a bug in vdk-config:
vdk_libs="$LIBDIRS -lvdk2 @GNOME_VDK@ @GTK_LIBS@\

vdk_cflags="$CFLAGS @GTK_CFLAGS@ @SIGC_CFLAGS@\
@GNOME_CFLAGS@ @SIGCDEFINE@ @GNOMEDEFINE@"
The CFLAGS and LIBS are obtained from pkg-config, but then hardcoded in
vdk-config. When they change, the new flags are not provided to packages
that build-depend on vdk.
This can be worked around by a set of binNMUs on vdk2, but seriously,
this library should use pkg-config instead of this broken vdk-config
script.
