It doesn't, and neither does purging everything fpc related and installing anew.
I noticed that installing the whole fpc distribution rather than just
fp-compiler and dependencies (-units-rtl and -utils) produces several pages
of linker warnings rather than just a few. All are the same:
/usr/bin/ld: warning: link.res:1:19: ignoring SEARCH_DIR; SEARCH_DIR is only
valid for scripts specified via -T/--script
I tried it on a couple of other sid systems:
* another amd64, same crash + warnings
* i386, no crash, a different warning:
/usr/bin/ld.bfd.real: warning: link.res contains output sections; did you
forget -T?
