I dont think this has anything to do with the release. There have been not special additional fixes for the lucid version compared to the maverick version. If there is a difference between lucid and maverick, it is the installed packages on those systems, but not the packages themselves. Also I could not reproduce this in the 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu5 version for natty which was not backported to maverick or lucid. There will soon be a 3.3.2 versions for natty (based on Renes great work for debian) and that will also be backported to maverick/lucid later.
