The lizenz and the code are not DFSG conform. So will never find it
in Debians repo. Did you tried ekiga?

If I understood you right everything works perfect with your
modprobe.d hack. But not with latest Skype beta 2.1.0.81. Downgrade
to 2.1.0.47 including your modeprobe hack everything works fine?
That performs my idea that its a skype bug only.
