I still see this very slow startup from liferea in sid. Due to the enormous amount of disk IO liferea does, a race condition occurs such that my panel does not appear unless I kill it (and the session manager auto restarts it). While this is not strictly liferea's fault, it is exceptionally annoying. This also doesn't take into account the double-digit seconds before my GNOME session becomes in any way usable.
Is there any plan to update liferea to a version that does not have this problem within the next week? If not, I plan to submit a patch to remove the queries specified in the original bug report.
