Hi Ulrich, could you please try the patch I attached? It's basically the one you proposed, bot without the biteswapping in __compare(): since the functions compares two native-endian uint32 counters that keep track of how many times a byte pattern is present in the page, the byteswap should make it return bogus results and decrease the compression of the bitmap.
