I tried, but it makes no difference. Also tried:
- rm /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.5/openshot/uploads/vimeo/convenience.pyc
- dpkg-reconfigure -plow to trigger whatever the install process tried to do 
and failed at.

Every attempt resulted in:

   OpenShot (version 1.3.0)
--------------------------------
Process no longer exists: 7452.  Creating new pid lock file.
-------------------------------------------------------
Error:  OpenShot has not been installed in the Python path.
(Both the site-packages and /usr/share/openshot folders were checked)

Use the following command to install OpenShot:
  $ sudo python setup.py install
