The bug tracking system of muse itself contains one item that looks similar to your problem (cf. https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1238563&group_id=93414&atid=604222). I've added a note about your report there. Maybe one of the muse developers can shed some light into this issue. I'd also appreciate any failure/success stories with the Debian package.
