What desktop environment / window manager are you using?
Can you please try running "wicd-client -n" ?
Would you please enable debugging mode ("debug_mode = 1"
in /etc/wicd/manager-settings.conf); re-try to run the client, and
attach /var/log/wicd/wicd.log here? Please remove any sensible information you
might have there.
