Java 1.6 update 18 contains a bug in the garbage collector and crashes because of that. This is a known bug in sun/openjdk. Please also refer to this bug description: http://support.jdownloader.org/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=viewticket&ticketid=5590 It seems to be better to use another java version.
