Hello, I just upgraded my Lenny to Squeeze, and for some unclear reason, this bug now occurs on my machine (almost no successful start so far). I have tried to add the sleep trick, but this did not solve my problem: the error message is still as described in this thread.
It seems to be quite a bad bug, as it is hard to notice it unless one browses fail2ban.log. So I imagine that many people feel safe while fail2ban does probably not its job.
