Hi! Please add documentation regarding module loading of i4l modules to the package, maybe even a Debian.NEWS entry. Since Bug#58851 <http://bugs.debian.org/588551> the i4l modules will not be automatically loaded by the system because the PCI aliases have been removed from the code. For HFC/HiSAX cards for example the mISDN driver hfcpci.ko will be loaded instead, which of course is useless if you want to use i4l tools. (( Even worse: you can load the hisax.ko even while hfcpci.ko is loaded and vice versa. I have _no_ idea what will happen, if both modules are active and trying to use the same resources. )) To use the old i4l drivers the admin has to blacklist the mISDN drivers. I choose to put all this into one config file: ,----[/etc/modprobe.d/hisax.conf | blacklist hfcpci | options hisax type=35 protocol=2 id=line0 `---- Grüße, Sven. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (200, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages isdnutils-base depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.38 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.11.2-8 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libncurses5 5.7+20100313-5 shared libraries for terminal hand ii lsb-base 3.2-26 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip isdnutils-base recommends no packages.
