Bug#584973: Cherry G230 keyboard freezes on language selection

I'm having the same problem with a Cherry G230 keyboard and either rc-1 and the daily build 2011-01-14 i386 netinstall CDs.
I can choose to install at boot, but as soon as the language selection is displayed, the keyboard freezes. 


AFAIK Cherry keyboards are quite popular, so the hid-cherry module 
really is required.
