And about #605632, denyhosts should handle by itself any case of duplicated hosts. It must not add a host again to /etc/hosts.deny if it's already blocked. Handling it in the logrotate script will need a more complex system to sort /etc/hosts.deny (it should not mess with the comments (like "sort -u" does right now), for example).
