one can just use the same rules, which are used to refresh the "common autotools parts", the only missing thing is gettext. For example I do this in phonefsod: http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-fso/phonefsod.git;a=blob;f=debian/rules > kannel-sqlbox is an example of using autoreconf (which should also > invoke autopoint - supposedly the successor of gettextize) > > gmerlin-avdecoder is a newer, slightly more compact example of using > "touch aclocal.m4" and tuning a couple of autotools options (not > sure if that will cover your need or not). > > I suggest look at those and tell me if such approaches are > acceptable to you, and we can close this bugreport. > > If not acceptable, then please help convince me of some "common > pattern" in this (including the cleanup routines!), or we will most > likely keep the bugreport open but tag it as wontfix. I think we can close this bugreport because of the package "dh-autoreconf", which I found after I did this bug report. I suggest to give a hint in the CDBS documentation, that there is a package providing autoreconf routines, though. -- Sebastian
