I tried to reproduce this bug on links 2.1. Here is what I found:
I could subscribe mailman lists at lists.pardus.org.tr by submitting
forms without using a proxy.
Then I tried to connect through a proxy. The easiest way for me was to
tether my phone and use "localhost:8080" as proxy. I was able to
subscribe in that situation as well.
I think your problem may somehow be caused by your proxy, or the issue
may have been fixed in later versions.
