Upgrading from lenny to squeeze produce the following error (the output is in italian, but it should be easy to understand what is going on): ===== Configuro console-tools (1:0.2.3dbs-69) ... Setting console screen modes and fonts. cannot (un)set powersave mode --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- Basically, /etc/console-tools/config was modified by another package, I still ignore which one... I tried to reproduce it in various way: - on a cowbuilder lenny chroot (locale 'C'), but with no success (the SCREEN_FONT* lines were not present in the lenny version) - in a similar lenny->squeeze upgrade on powerpc (locale 'fr_CH.UTF-8'), but with no success (the SCREEN_FONT* lines were not present in the lenny version) - installing twice lenny on the same machine (but different HDs), the first time (locale 'fr_CH.UTF-8') the SCREEN_FONT* lines were not present after the lenny installation, while the second time yes (locale 'en_US.UTF-8') While I am lost, I found out that when there is no problem the console-setup binary package is installed as well . However, I fail to understand why that, given that I did not choose any manual package, but instead always installed lenny in 'standard' mode.
