Hi.

In the notes you describe, that compression schemes are not erally mime types
but encodings of types.

I understand that you include such types when they're official (like
"application/zip").

But why do you include unofficial stuff like
application/x-7z-compressed 7z
application/x-cab cab
application/x-cpio cpio
application/x-gtar gtar
application/x-gtar-compressed tgz taz
application/x-lha lha
application/x-lzx lzx
application/x-shar shar
application/x-tar tar
application/x-wingz wz
+ possibly others I didn't identify as general purpose compressing tools?

I mean it's clear that for e.g. those it's ok:
application/x-bittorrent torrent
application/x-debian-package deb udeb
<the staroffice/ODF formats>
because even though compressed, it's about their special content.

Cheers,
Chris.
