Package: qemu-kvm Version: 0.12.5+dfsg-4 Severity: important
When starting a VM with SDL video output, I end up with a black screen containing a (blinking) text-mode cursor in the top left corner. The kvm process dies immediately. It is impossible to console-switch to a text VT (Ctrl-Alt-F1), or indeed do anything at all from the main display. Using VNC video output for the guest works OK. The machine is otherwise perfectly happy, and I can ssh into it. Killing off the X session (by killing my window manager) causes X to restart, at which point I end up back in my XDM login screen again. I have two separate machines on which this happens (a desktop and a laptop).
