Hi, note that in Debian the group name for automatic admin rights has been fixed to “sudo”, and is implemented by both sudo and PolicyKit.
Update-manager should be fixed to use that name instead of “admin”. Furthermore, I think update-notifier should still be launched when the sudo group exists without the user being in it. However it should not propose to install the updates in this case, just warn when some of them are in progress and warn that a reboot is in order. This would be extremely helpful, since when the sysadmin does an operation, the user would know about it, and he would also be told to reboot. Cheers, -- .''`. : :' : “You would need to ask a lawyer if you don't know `. `' that a handshake of course makes a valid contract.” `- -- J???rg Schilling -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
