We have found this regression is caused by this change http://bugs.icu-project.org/trac/changeset/26090/icu/trunk/source/layout/IndicReordering.cpp We have tested Open Office with this change reverted and everything is working fine. I think this is an important enough bug to be fixed in squeeze because Open Office is so widely used. Please revert the above change.
