I've experienced the same problem since upgrading to 1.0.4-2sarge2. It occurs for both Ctrl-click and middle-click.
Here's another example of how to reproduce: 1. go to http://www.google.com/ads/ 2. Ctrl-click or middle click on link in "For Advertisers: Google AdWords" (near top left of page) works as expected. 3. Ctrl-click or middle click on the left-hand image does not work, though the URL is the same as the text link above.
