Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hi,

Currently these the official packages repositories:
- release v=5.0.6,o=Debian,a=stable,l=Debian,c=main
- release o=Debian,a=testing,n=squeeze,l=Debian,c=main
- release o=Debian,a=unstable,n=sid,l=Debian,c=main
- release o=Debian,a=experimental,n=experimental,l=Debian,c=main

- release v=None,o=Debian,a=testing,n=squeeze,l=Debian-Security,c=main
- release o=Debian,a=squeeze-volatile,n=squeeze-volatile,l=Debian,c=main
- release v=label=Debian Backports,o=Debian
Backports,a=squeeze-backports,n=squeeze-backports,l=Debian Backports,c=main

The first inconsistency is related to the name set on origin (o=) field. Most of
them have this field (correctly) set to "Debian" with the exception of backports
repository which has "o=Debian Backports".

The second inconsistency is related to the name set on label (l=) field. The
first
four (constant) repositories for stable+testing+unstable+experimental have this
fiedl correctly set to "Debian". For the other three repository I'm proposing to
use the same convention used for the security repo "l=Debian-Security" since it
would
be very had to change it. Thus these should be changed:
- for volatile set label field to "l=Debian-Volatile";
- for backports set label field to "l=Debian-Backports".

The third inconsistency is related to the name set on archieve (a=) field. It
is set
correctly (IMO) for the first five listed repositories but it should be changed
for
consistency to the last two:
- for volatile set archieve field to "a=testing-volatile";
- for backports set archieve field to "a=testing-backports".
The change from "testing" to "stable" will be performed as usual for all of
them.

The fourth inconsistency is related to the name set on codename (n=) field. It
is set
correctly (IMO) for the first five listed repositories but it should be changed
for
consistency to the last two:
- for volatile set codename field to "n=squeeze";
- for backports set codename field to "n=squeeze".
This way all repositories meant for squeeze will have the same codename.

On a separate note, the "v=label=Debian Backports" for the backports repo seems
redundant since there is a specific label field for this.

Thanks
