On a fresh Squeeze install, the "Restart now" button doesn't trigger any reboot
at all.
BTW, you may consider this as important because of the bug visibility at
first security kernel update after squeeze release.
dbus-monitor shows:

src/reboot.c says:

But we cannot see any dbus call to that second option :
