Package: ifupdown
Version: 0.6.7
Followup-For: Bug #319234

Hello,
I've been kicked in ass by this problem too. It looks like the problem
appears (at least on my box) only at boot time. If I run
/etc/init.d/networking stop && /etc/init.d/networking start or just
ifdown eth1 && ifup eth1 everything works OK.

Regards
        Artur
