Package: mc Version: 3:4.7.0.1-1 Severity: normal For the mc package in lenny and before, when one puts sort_order=time in the suitable configuration file in ~/.mc/ (or equivalently when one saves that option from the menus) then a newly started mc sorts files by modification time in the suitable panel.
This is no longer true in version 4.7.x (mc starts with sorting by name) in various combinations: lenny [dpkg -i of an old package whose dependencies are satisfied in lenny] or current squeeze; i386, amd64 or powerpc; current official debian package or upseteam 4.7.4 compiled from source (after a apt-get build-dep mc).
