Upstream has acknowledged and committed a fix to this problem and will be releasing a new version that includes the fix. Since this version of vips/nip2 is already not in squeeze, I'll wait until the new version comes out and re-upload. I can backport to squeeze if/when appropriate since that version most likely also has the problem.
