Package: sleepd Version: 2.02 Severity: wishlist First, sleepd is an excellent contribution to Debian!
I often leave my computer busy for long periods of time, and I run the usual $ sleepctl off before and $ sleepctl on after so that the system does not sleep based on n seconds idle time. However, my laptop is frequently in environments where power is not certain, especially where maybe an outlet is controlled by a switch or my laptop may be unplugged accidentally. In the case of power being disconnected, I want sleepd to be reactivated rather than waiting for the battery to be drained. I have overcome this by a shell fragment that checks for AC power and reactivates sleepd if it is disconnected. If sleepd had an option like --off-battery then it could be set to the amount of idle time, on battery, after running 'sleepctl off', before sleepd would suspend the system. The value 0 could be used as a default to disable this feature.
