Package: git-buildpackage
Version: 0.5.8
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

Thanks for git-buildpackage! It has made my packaging life much
better.

When multiple developers are working on a package, for example as part
of a packaging team, it would be good to have git-dch not modify the
changelog trailer, so as to properly attribute the changes in the
Changed-By line.

Example:

Developer A imports new upstream version, adds NEWS entries to
changelog and does various tweaks.

Developer B (perhaps the sponsor) comes along before upload and does a
couple of minor changes before uploading.

Developer A should remain in the Changed-By here, but git-dch will
always update to Developer B's details. dch already supports this with
--[no]mainttrailer.

Please consider exposing this information too.

Thanks,
Iain
