I'm not sure this bug is really important. Most systems have ulimit set
to unlimited and so are not affected. Anyway, the user have an
acceptable workaround. Please review the bug severity in [1] from which
you can read

2.4.4 will be released soon and will have this fix. I could try to port
the patch in r14805, but don't think this could be a valid reason for a
freeze exception on squeeze, thus don't want to do it unless I have the
guaranty that it could migrate to squeeze.
