Hello, I'm experiencing a similar thing. For me it crashes every time I try to launch it without a splash. I narrowed it down to:
[t...@notes ~]$ /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException' [t...@notes ~]$ /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin -splash-pipe=1 10% 20% ...
