Hi, I'm aware of the issues with the non-free data files. I'll try to find free replacements for the next release, though it might take some time since I'm not a sound engineer. As sound support is the only significant improvement over the old version, Debian probably won't benefit much from upgrading until the audio content can be included.
I'm creating a Trac hosted app for the project so that bug reports can be alternatively submitted using it in the future. It's still being configured but it should be working soon enough.
