Package: ia32-libs Version: 20090808 Severity: normal This is still an issue, see here: http://www.techtickle.com/google-voice-and-video-chat-now-available-for-ubuntu-and-debian-linux.html#comment-798
And see here for a solution: http://www.techtickle.com/google-voice-and-video-chat-now-available-for-ubuntu-and-debian-linux.html#comment-800 I tried that solution (manually installing those two packages), and it worked, but that shouldn't be necessary. ia32-libs should contain everything needed for all its libs to work (or depend on other packages for the missing libs). Why does dpkg even allow creating a package which references nonexistent shared libraries? Please add libwrap0 and libgdm3 to ia32-libs (and while you're at it maybe update the other 32-bit libs to the latest versions). -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.35.4-phenom (SMP w/6 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages ia32-libs depends on: ii dpkg 1.15.8.4 Debian package management system ii lib32asound2 1.0.23-1 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii lib32gcc1 1:4.5.1-2 GCC support library (32 bit Versio ii lib32ncurses5 5.7+20100313-2 shared libraries for terminal hand ii lib32stdc++6 4.5.1-2 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 (3 ii lib32z1 1:1.2.5.dfsg-1 compression library - 32 bit runti ii libc6-i386 2.11.2-2 GNU C Library: 32-bit shared libra ii lsb-release 3.2-23.1 Linux Standard Base version report ia32-libs recommends no packages.
