Forget about that, without debugging symbols for /usr/bin/emacs it is
completely useless.

Also like in Emacs 22, you seem to be the only one who sees this.  If
you care about it, please rebuild emacs23 with DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip
and retry.  Even better, run Emacs from the build directory
(debian/build-x/src) under GDB.

Maybe.  Without a useful backtrace, it's hard to tell.
