Not sure if this is actually your fd leak,... but there will be a leaked fd fix in 2.02.74 (see http://sources.redhat.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/LVM2/WHATS_NEW?rev=1.1724&content-type=text/plain&cvsroot=lvm2).
