Thanks guys, I now found what I searched for in the ncurses debian
source package (xterm.ti, the terminfo source for xterm).
Since the confusion is very specific, it might be useful to add a check
to the source-reader which immediately errors out if the "source" begins
with the magic code corresponding to compiled entries.
This is a good idea to avoid future bug reports like this one. And one
more line in the man page to explain this will be even better.
