I've the same problem using LVM2 with old VG and LV (created at feb 2010). After last reboot the vgchange command started to fail with the same error.
# lvm version LVM version: 2.02.39 (2008-06-27) Library version: 1.02.27 (2008-06-25) Driver version: 4.13.0 It's a big problem for me because the own mail server is not running now... Thanks in advance, Marco
