The package builds fine (both on Debian and Ubuntu) as it is, I only wanted to positively state that it *also* builds if you use the simple 2-line rules file (you get some warnings about unnecessarily linked libraries, though). In sum: no problem to build from source at all :-) Marcel PS: The whole reason for this bug report is that the Ubuntu package had the simple rules file until recently. That is, until I requested a resync with Debian...
