I mostly agree on closing this bug. As I already explained to Harald, I'm missing time for reproducing the case where I was having the failure. Moeover in the meantime, our Fortigate systems were upgraded and so was Openswan. I will probably test this again some time in the future, but as You could make things work properly in a standard environment, I think that the issue can be considered as fixed....if it ever was an issue in Openswan (the case I reported was the only attempt to make a VPN access with our Fortigate and a Linux box. All of our use cases happen with Fortinet's proprietary crap^W client under Windows (Forticlient: a damn holy piece of crap, I have to say). --
