I released a new version (1.1.4) where the changes of Didier's fix
were incorporated. I use the "wait_for_file" function inline because
no other distribution I tested on provides "hotplug.functions".
The call of the dispatching sh script returns immediately (as did the
double call of the tcl script in earlier versions), but in addition
the whole package is now boot-proof. This was tested on Debian 5 and
many other systems.
The "sleep" periods are still part of the process but they are not
blocking anything except the script (well, they are supposed to).
