Hi, According to Dejan, this should not be a problem in released versions and the error that Tim reported was only present in non-release versions.
According to http://packages.qa.debian.org/p/pacemaker.html, there was a 1.0.5+hg20090813-1 uploaded to unstable which could potentially have the problem, but it never proceeded into testing.
