Package: fldigi Version: 3.20.20-1 Severity: important xmonad is a tiling window manager and takes control of the size and positions of windows on the screen.
I experienced numerous conditions in which fldigi would hang or, more rarely, segfault in this scenario. Typically this appears to occur when xmonad makes an fldigi window, particularly the main window, smaller than it expects. This can happen automatically, for instance, when I open a new window, the fldigi window can be shrunk to being very small horizontally. A temporary workaround is to tell xmonad to "float" all the fldigi windows, which causes it to manage them in its more conventional fashion. This caused me to lose more than one QSO before I realized what was going on, and is probably not limited to xmonad; I suspect it could be duplicated with a standard wm by resizing the main window to be a few dozen or hundred pixels tall. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages fldigi depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-9 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libfltk1.1 1.1.10-2 Fast Light Toolkit - shared librar ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-1 GCC support library ii libhamlib2 1.2.11-1 Run-time library to control radio ii libpng12-0 1.2.43-1 PNG library - runtime ii libportaudio2 19+svn20071022-3+b1 Portable audio I/O - shared librar ii libpulse0 0.9.21-1 PulseAudio client libraries ii librpc-xml-perl 0.73-1 Perl module implementation of XML- ii libsamplerate0 0.1.7-3 Audio sample rate conversion libra ii libsndfile1 1.0.21-2 Library for reading/writing audio ii libstdc++6 4.4.4-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-3 X11 client-side library ii libxmlrpc-c3 1.06.27-1.1 A lightweight RPC library based on Versions of packages fldigi recommends: ii extra-xdg-menus 1.0-4 Extra menu categories for applicat Versions of packages fldigi suggests: pn libterm-readline-gnu-perl | l <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
