 It starts like it should over here on a lenny/stable system. From the
information you provided with your bugreport it seems like you are on
squeeze/testing or sid/unstable. Please notice that serpentine isn't
included in those releases anymore and AIUI is to be replaced by
brasero.

 The issue starting it might be related to the python transition from
2.5 to 2.6 and it might well be that it doesn't work properly with
python 2.6. Like mentioned above, serpentine isn't included anymore in
squeeze/sid.

 If you agree we can close this bugreport - I am at least demoting it
back to important because the issue doesn't seem to be existing in
stable.
