Either of us does not understand something.

kvm _is_ qemu, the only real difference is that
kvm have "accelerated CPU" (using native CPU on
the host), while qemu emulates the CPU.  Everything
that is valid for qemu is also valid for kvm.  See
also README.Debian document that comes with qemu-kvm
package.

There's a todo item (/usr/share/doc/qemu-kvm/TODO.Debian)
"Review and patch the documentation, look for proper naming" -
this is exactly about this "issue".  But I hope we wont
be doing this - it's of very low priority, and hopefully
qemu-kvm package will become a dummy/transitional one,
switching to upstream qemu, when the necessary functionality
will be merged.

I think it's ok to close the bugreport, or maybe mark it
as 'wishlist wontfix'.
